PENDLETON — Pendleton Heights High School Homecoming takes place Friday, with the traditional parade through town, special team and individual honors, and

On Friday evening, Sept. 27, Homecoming Parade units will assemble at the Falls Park circle east of the Community Building between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. Participants are asked to check in with Cori Hunckler, Homecoming Parade coordinator, for line-up and instructions.

The parade will begin at 6 p.m., traveling through the park to Pendleton Avenue, south to State Street and then east to Arabian Stadium. Only parade vehicles will be allowed into the park. Participants should be dropped off at the entrance or their float’s designated staging area.

The Homecoming Parade will include the PHHS Marching Arabians, along with high school, middle school, and elementary clubs and athletic teams; cheerleaders; local junior soccer and football teams; the Madison County Shriners Desert Patrol; Scouts; Homecoming Royalty; class floats, fire trucks, churches and classic cars.

The 2024 Silver Anniversary team, coaches and trainer from the Class of 2000 will also be honored.

Senior members of the ‘99-’00 team under 24th year head coach John Broughton, assistant coach Bill Stoudt, assistant coach David Cloud, assistant coach Tony Candiano, assistant coach Kevin Wolf, assistant Tom Huth, assistant Curt Trout and trainer Dennis McCord were: Ryan Cauley (No. 7), Joey Mummert (No. 21 and captain), Josh Hoover (No. 25), Eric Ryan (No. 33), Ryan Morton (No. 44 and captain), Jim Miller (No. 45), Evan Hardesty (No. 51), Ryan Bond (No. 55), Zach Williams (No. 56), Ryan Ramseyer (No. 57), Drew Garretson (No. 68 and captain), Chris Fullen (No. 68), Ryan Wimmer (No. 71) and James Campbell (No. 85).

The Marching Arabians will perform their pre-game show, with the kick-off scheduled at 7:30 p.m.

The Arabian football team takes on Mt. Vernon Marauders.

The winning float and the 2024 Homecoming Queen will be announced at halftime.

The Silver Anniversary Teams will be introduced in front of the home stands to begin halftime ceremonies.

The Homecoming Dance “Fairy Tales” will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, in the Student Activity Center. Tickets are $10.

Morgan Goodpaster and Toni Love-Cunningham are the Pendleton Heights Student Council sponsors who help coordinate homecoming.
