South Madison Visual Art Show winners

PENDLETON — South Madison Community Foundation announced the winners of the 2024 South Madison Visual Art Show at Gallery 119 on Friday.
David Humphrey earned Best of Show along with a $250 award for his photograph “In A Child’s Eye.”
Katy Burke’s oil piece “In The Mood” took second place ($150), while Adam Kyle’s mixed media work “Daydream of 1980” was voted People’s Choice ($100).
Honorable Mentions were also presented to:
Don Saxon — “The Day The Sun Disappeared,” photography
George Harris — “Diving For Attention,” digital
Adam Kyle — “iPhone Marriage,” mixed media
The show was open to artists from Fall Creek, Adams and Green townships. Any art media except video was welcome.
There were 24 entries submitted by nine artists.
There was no entry fee.
The judge for the show was Mary Ann Davis, an award-winning artist who is a member of the American Impressionist Society, MidAmerica Pastel Society, Plein Air Artists Colorado and the Chicago Pastel Painters.
The show was made possible by the community foundation’s Arts Fund, which was established by the children of Robert and Vinetta A. Wills, in honor of their mother, Vinetta Aiman Wills.
The show is on display at the gallery, 119 W. State St., Pendleton through Sept. 30. The gallery is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
