Art classes on the schedule
PENDLETON — Pendleton Artists Society has a variety of art classes on its schedule, including:
• Jewelry Class with Tracy Davidson — 1-6 p.m. Oct. 27. Participants will be taught how to make a ¾-inch-wide band sterling ring with choice from 100 gemstones to bezel set. People will be able to design their texturing or leave it clean and shiny. The band may be made narrower for shorter fingers. Cost: $75.

The gallery is located at 119 W. State St., and its regular hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
History talks set for Anderson
ANDERSON —Madison County Historical Society has the following presentations planned at Museum of Madison County History, 15 W. 11th St., Anderson.
• Jim Abraham will present “The History of the Paramount Theater’s Renovation” at the society’s general membership meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27.
• Madison County Historian Steven Jackson will present ‘The Mills & of Gypsies, Vesuvius, Elephants and Buffalo Bill.” at 2 p.m. Nov. 3. The topic is from his book “If the River Could Talk,” and is a continuation of his First Sunday Series.
Both events are open to the public.
American Legion plans activities
PENDLETON — American Legion Post 117, 611 W. State St., Pendleton, plans the following events — open to members and non-members:
• DJ Dex and Karaoke, 8-11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25
• Homemade chicken noodle dinner, 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28 (until sold out)
• Legionnaires will be at the intersection of State Street and Pendleton Avenue from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8 to conduct a boot drive to collect money to support veterans programs. Also, people can stop by the post between noon and 8 p.m. daily to leave a donation.
Regular events
• All-you-can-eat wings: 5-8 p.m. Thursdays
• Lunch specials (as well as regular menu): starting at 11 a.m. weekdays, until food runs out
• Happy Hour: 3-6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays
• Treasure Hunt drawing (open to all): 7:30 p.m. Fridays
• Football pitch-in, share your favorite snacks and watch the Indianapolis Colts play, 1-6 p.m. Sundays
The Legion conducts regular raffles and drawings that are open to the public.
The Legion’s general membership meeting is 6 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday each month. Public is welcome.
The facility is smoke-free.
The Legion also is recruiting volunteers and sponsors to expand its service.

Blood drive set for Lapel library
LAPEL — Lapel Branch Library, 610 Main St., will play host to a community blood drive, from 1:15-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, in the First Floor Meeting Room.
The drive is in partnership with Versiti Blood Centers of Indiana.
Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are encouraged.

This program is free and open to the public.
A library card is not required to visit or attend programs at the library.

Town seeks input on revitalization plan
PENDLETON — The Town of Pendleton is in the early stages of submitting a planning grant application to Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs to develop a new Downtown Revitalization Plan.
Planning grants are funded with Federal Community Development Block Grant dollars from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The program aims to encourage communities to plan for long-term holistic community development.
