When did the business open? Late October 2023
Do you own/have you ever owned another business? If so, which one(s)? No, this is our first adventure.
How did you get into the arts and crafts business? I’m a lover of art and all things handmade. I have been a creative for most of my adult life and wanted to support other artisans in getting their creations out into the community.
What aspect of the business do you like most? Please explain. I love the interactions with the people who walk into our shop. We are a faith-based business and that alone allows people to be open and real about their own personal struggles. Most of the time, our shoppers are just looking or wanting to know who we are, and the shop atmosphere sets the tone for much more than a shopping experience. I also teach and coach women self-discovery techniques through art which allows them to let go of past hurts and begin to heal into the person God wants them to be.
What are some of the challenges involved with the business? Getting the word out that we are here. Promoting has been a challenge.
What are your hopes for the business? That we not only promote artisans but that we also create an experience or opportunity for our shoppers to see their Creator in a new and fresh way.
Is there anything else you think people would want to know or find interesting about you or your business? We are just figuring out where God is leading us and who he is leading to us. We are open to new artisans in our shop and would love the opportunity to have a conversation. We partner with three international organizations to support women getting out of poverty, human trafficking and keeping their child out of orphanages. We believe in breaking the chains of poverty by empowering women through fair trades.
