Gallery 119 in Pendleton smelled delicious Saturday afternoon as 10 people took part in a desert-making class, “Make Baklava like a Greek Yia Yia,” with instructor Tedi Mangas-Coon. “I grew up in the restaurant business,” she said. Along with being a restaurateur, Mangus-Coon owned catering businesses and was director of human resources for the Cincinnati Reds. Robyn Axel-Adams was in the class. “It takes a lot of patience,” she said after placing 36 layers of filo dough. Karen Zane, PAS event coordinator for the Pendleton Artists Society, which runs the gallery, said there are plans to offer another baklava class in November if there is enough interest.
