PENDLETON — Pendleton Home Tour is set for noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, downtown and benefits a local non-profit.
“Have a love for historic gems? Join us for our annual Pendleton Home Tour and explore five beautifully preserved and cherished homes throughout our historic downtown,” reads an entry on the website of event co-sponsor Pendleton Chamber of Commerce.
One stop on the tour is a 4,000-square-foot home built in the 1890s; known as the Taylor home, it’s located at 210 W. State St.
It’s owned by Matt and Ashley Houston, owners of the local business Hoosier Classics.
To take the tour, people must check in at the chamber’s welcome table at Citizens State Bank, 129 S. Pendleton Ave., between noon and 3 p.m. After check-in, people will receive a wristlet and tour guide booklet.
The tour costs $12 per person, with funds raised benefiting a local organization that helps animals.
“This year we are honored to help raise awareness and funds for one of our beloved local nonprofits — Friends for Paws,” according to the chamber. “All ticket proceeds will be donated to aid this wonderful mission of fostering and rehoming fur babies.
“During the tour, you’ll have the opportunity to show some love to a few of the animals currently in their care!”
