PENDLETON — Pendleton Artists Society had 65 children participate in it annual Kids Art Camp 2024 at Gallery 119 this year, with a theme of “Spread Your Wings With Art.”

“It went really good this year. We had a good group of kids,” PAS event coordinator Karen Zane. “They had a lot of nice projects.”

The camp took place last week, July 8-12, and served children ages 6-12 in the daytime and 12 and older at night.

The camp offered a variety of classes taught by a roster of mostly local artists.

Classes included printmaking, watercolor, acrylic painting, photography and gourd art.

The art created during the camp was displayed on Friday night, after the last day of the camp.

Parents and other family members, as well as the public, were welcome to visit and view the art.

“They have their own little art show,” Zane said. “We probably had at least 200 people come through there.”

Campers then took their creations home.
