PAS announces winner of Members Show

PENDLETON — Pendleton Artists Society announced the winners of its Members Show at its July First Friday event.

Patrick Klusner won First Place with his oil painting “Heron At Sunrise.”

Greg Sasser won Second Place for his acrylic painting “Dorothy Gale,” and Sheila Piazza earned Third Place with a photo titled “Rural Decay.”

The People’s Choice Award — determined by a vote of those present during the opening event — went to Dawn Wilhite for the fabric piece “Serenity.”

Jerry Wire was judge of the event, which took place at Gallery 119 in Pendleton. The top awards was $70 for First place, followed by $40, $30, and $20 for People’s Choice.

Sandy Hall won a Merit Award for a watercolor piece titled “French Worker.”

Honorable Mentions were awarded to:

• Sheila Piazza — “Dramatic Finalé,” colored pencil

• Kristen Kruger — “The Kingfisher,” watercolor

• Barry Gray — “Cats Eye,” oil

• Barry Gray — “Vickie thru the Looking Glass,” oil

• Sandy Hall — “Lights Out In Converse,” oil/plein air

Dawn Wilhite sponsored the show, which will be on display through July 31 at the gallery, 119 W. State St.

The public is welcome during regular hours, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
