PENDLETON — Shane Ringer has worked in heating and air conditioning for 15 years.

Recently, with the encouragement of his wife, Brittany, he decided to go out on his own.

Ringer, who also served seven years in the U.S. Air Force, said one of his goals is to be a model of integrity in the business.

“I want to show what an honest company can do,” he said.

Ringer moved to Pendleton from Fortville three years ago. He and his wife, who is the S&B office manager, have a son, Griffin, 5.

S&B Heating and Cooling has been in business for about a month.

He says he is currently depending on word of mouth for customers.

“We offer everything the big companies do without the overhead costs,” Ringer said.

He said he’s is willing to go any where but prefers mainly Madison and Hancock counties.

Ringer offers installation, service and maintenance work.

“I will do second opinions and free estimates,” he said.

He has no emergency or after-hours fees.

“We will give a 15% discount to seniors, first responders and veterans,” Brittany said.

Ringer said he is available anytime except Sunday morning, when he goes to church.

“We are taking a leap of faith,” he added.

“I believe in him enough that he will make it,” Brittany said. “One day at a time.”
