LAPEL — Bozell Funeral Homes in Lapel announced on Monday that it has purchased three new locations: Wilson-St. Pierre Funeral Services in Pendleton, Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service and Crematory in Anderson and Condo & Son in Wilkinson.
“The communities of southern Madison County, northern Hancock County and eastern Hamilton County are extremely important to our family,” funeral director/CEO Todd Bozell stated in a news release. “Our family was raised in these areas and currently reside in these communities.
“We want to continue the tradition of both family and local ownership while making every effort to keep funeral costs within budget for the families that we love and serve each and every day.”
According to the release, all of the purchases were made from the St. Pierre family.
Bozell is a first-generation funeral director and has been providing services in Madison County for more than 20 years.
He started his career at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel, the release states; he managed Robert D. Loose Funeral Home in Anderson for more than 15 years before returning to his hometown in Lapel to purchase the former Hersberger Funeral Home in 2019.
Bozell; sons Noah and Luke; and his cousin, Chad Bozell, owner/CFO, are “committed to providing the upmost care, compassion and respect to every family that calls upon them,” the release states.
According to the release, people who have pre-arranged and pre-paid funeral services with the acquired businesses will not be impacted financially.
“These funds have been invested in state approved financial institutions, either insurance policies specially developed for pre-funding funeral arrangements, or in trust accounts approved by the State of Indiana,” it states. “These trust funds and insurance policies will remain intact, guaranteed, and are not impacted.”
According to Chad Bozell, all locations will be called Bozell Funeral Homes followed by a chapel name: Lapel Chapel (Lapel), Lahm Chapel (Pendleton), Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel (Anderson) or Condo Chapel (Wilkinson).
