LAPEL — Two high-powered offenses will go head-to-head in the final game of the regular season on Friday when Lapel travels to Charlottesville to take on Eastern Hancock.

The host Royals (4-4) average 34.6 points per game, while the Bulldogs (6-2) are scoring at a 32.9 clip. They are ranked No. 35 and No. 42, respectively, in the state in scoring.

Bulldogs junior quarterback Brennan Stow averages 193.3 passing yards per game and has thrown 16 touchdown passes in Lapel’s first eight games.

With 1,546 yards, Stow is ranked No. 21 in the state in passing yards and No. 26 in passing yards per game. His 16 touchdowns rank him 28th in touchdowns.

Sophomore running back Tyler Dollar gives Lapel a great balance in passing and running. He has rushed for 1,117 yards on the season, an average of 139.6 per contest. He has scored 15 touchdowns and has added 12 more points on two-point conversions.

Dollar is No. 16 in rushing yards and No. 27 in yards per game. His touchdown total puts him at No. 21.

Eastern Hancock has put up most of its numbers through the air.

Junior quarterback Houston Swan is No. 9 in the state in passing yards with 1,173. He is averaging 221.6 per game, No. 14. Swan has thrown 21 touchdown passes, tied for 14th.

Lapel’s Tanner Mroz is No. 20 in receiving yards with 667.

The Bulldogs bounced back from a loss to state-ranked Heritage Christian with an impressive 43-15 win last week against Jay County.

In the victory, Stow was 16-for-26 for 324 yards and four touchdowns.

Dollar had 14 carries for 163 yards and a touchdown. Mroz had four catches for 138 yards and a touchdown. Hayden LeClerc had two touchdown receptions. Dollar also had a 45-yard touchdown reception.

Defensively, Parker Allman had three tackles for loss, including a sack, as well as a forced fumble and fumble recovery. Will Johnson had 12 tackles, and Brock Harper had two interceptions.

Eastern Hancock is coming off its second-straight loss; both were close games. The Royals lost by identical 28-21 scores the past two weeks. They were beaten at Monroe Central two weeks ago and, at home, by Shenandoah last week.
