Spencer B. Carpenter, 67, Noblesville, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Indianapolis VA Medical Center. He was born on Aug. 4, 1945, in Union City, Ind. to Dwight and Elizabeth (Burkett) Carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn (Brinker) Carpenter; one daughter, Jamie (Eric) Meadors of McCordsville; two step-sons, Cory Duncan of Montgomery, Texas and Mike (Kathy) Gilbert of Wilkinson; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and two brothers, Ken Carpenter of New Smyrna, Fla. and William (Judy) Carpenter of Port Orange, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jodi White; and two brothers, Stanley and Jack Carpenter.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at the Lapel American Legion Post, 1600 North Main Street, Lapel, IN.
