Charles Steven "Charlie" Dopirak, III, 65, Lapel, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at his home following an extended illness. He was born on Dec. 27, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Charles and Mildred (Enrico) Dopirak.

Charlie retired from the U. S. Army as a sergeant in 1988 after 23 years of service in Viet Nam, Germany, and Korea.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sharon Kay (Nikirk) Wilson-Dopirak; three daughters, Nicole Dopirak of Philadelphia, Pa., Tracie Wilson and Karri Shojaei-Wilson both of Rockwall, Texas; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one sister, Ann Marie Gallagher of Ocean City, N.J.; and one brother, William Steven Dopirak of St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Wendi Wilson.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Atlantic City, N.J., at a later

date and burial will follow in Arlington National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Marigold Learning Academy, 502 Goliad, Rockwall, TX 75087.
