Shirley Joyce Raison, 74, of Lapel, died on Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at Community Hospital of Anderson following an extended illness. She was born on Aug. 18, 1937, in Enid, Okla. to George and Pauline (Williams) Younger.
She is survived by her husband of 16 years Donald Raison; her sister, Carolyn (David) Kemper of Kansas City, Kan.; three step-children, Connie (Harry) Bennett of Fort Wayne, Deddie (Ronald) Morse of Anderson, and Donald V. (Donna) Raison of Ingals; grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Charles Edward Whitmill; her son, Donald Edward Whitmill; and her step-father, Thomas G. Hobbs.
Visitation was from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., on Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at the funeral home with Dr. Jerry Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
