Joseph "Joe" Shetterly, 84, of Perkinsville, died on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at Community Parkview Care Center in Elwood following an extended illness. He was born on Nov. 5, 1927, in Cicero.

 Joe served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.

  He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Edith Shetterly; three children, Debra (Dennis) Muse of Perkinsville, Michael (Brenda) Cogill of Elwood, and Frank (Janet) Shetterly of Perkinsville; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.

 He was preceded in death by his parents Frank Shetterly and Jean Apgar; and one brother, Elmer Shetterly.

 Visitation was from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at Perkinsville Community Church with Pastor Mark Aleshire officiating. Burial will follow in Neese Cemetery, Frankton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Perkinsville Park Fund, c/o the Perkinsville Community Church, 2783 North Washington Street, Anderson, IN 46011.
