Brenda L. Veach, age 55, of Lapel, died on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011, at her home following an extended illness. She was born on Jan. 9, 1956, in Evansville, Ind., to Robert and Nadine (Dill) Andre.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Michael Veach; three children, Jason (Vanessa) Veach of Jackson, Mich., Tara (Adam) Ritz of Anderson, and Anna Veach of Lapel; one grandson; her father, Robert Andre of Culver, Ind.; two sisters, Bev (Mark) Horstman of Knox, Ind., and Betty (Dave) Lloyd of Plymouth; and one brother, Bob (Deborah) Andre of San Antonio, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her mother; son, Ryan Michael Veach; and brother, Ken Andre.

Visitation was held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 N. Main St., Lapel. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at the funeral home, with Rev. Bill Thompson officiating. Burial followed in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
